Well, ladies and gents, after a long break, I'm back and I'm still fat. I'm back on many levels, actually. Back on the blog, back on a diet (only lost 4lbs worth of ground), back on Everquest, and soon I'll be back to school to knock out the last eight credits of a long overdue degree.
My work has been a nightmare, and my diet the same. How I only managed to gain back about four lbs is beyond me. My company has a gym plan with New York Sports Club, but then tries to do all in their power to keep me from going. I originally thought that exercise could take the place of dieting, but then I didn't do either.
On the bright side, I got one of those instant pools that looks like a giant sack of water. Four feet deep and twenty five across. Not too shabby. So far I've spent a total of six hours in it over two days, and man, it wipes me OUT. The Chib too for that matter. I get back in the house and we pass out on the sofa together. That's gotta mean one of two things. Either we're getting great exercise or the chlorine is slowly poisoning us.
So what did I eat today? Wait, I didn't say I was back on my diet yet, did I? OK, well maybe tomorrow.
I started off easy with one of those pastries. I know I cut them out, but lately I'd gotten into the habit of the McD Sausage Egg Cheese bagel, so this was a compromise. At the office I had noodle soup (180 cals) and for lunch, tomato soup and a buttered bagel (total about 450 cals). So far so good.
Then some of my coworkers walked in with a suitcase of white castles. A few folks never had them, others talked about how many they'd eaten in a sitting (my personal record is 27) and then they realized they couldn't eat them all... Six burgers later remembered how this was not a good idea, and left the last four for a lucky intern.
But hey, dinner was a slimfast!
